Journey into the heart of Africa without leaving the D.C. area at this special celebration hosted by the Embassy of Burkina Faso. This unique Saturday night event takes place at the Ambassador's Residence in Potomac, MD, offering an immersive cultural experience.
Guests will enjoy a rare treat of authentic Burkina Faso cuisine, prepared by a native chef, alongside an open bar featuring beer, wine, and special native drinks. The evening includes a live musical and dance cultural presentation, providing a vibrant showcase of the nation's artistic traditions. Attendees will also have the opportunity to hear from and network with diplomatic staff.
The event features a presentation of traditional masks, attire, fabrics, and other special artifacts and paintings, with embassy staff on hand to discuss their origins and meaning. As the night progresses, a late-night DJ will play a mix of popular African songs and top 40 American hits, inviting everyone to dance. The suggested attire is smart casual, with preppy as a minimum (no tee shirts, jeans, shorts, or sneakers).
