George Washington & His World : In recognition of USA 250

In recognition of the 250th anniversary of American independence, the Sultan Qaboos Cultural Center presents a year of programs exploring American history and the long-standing friendship between Oman and the United States. This lecture, "George Washington & His World," delves into the life, leadership, and historical legacy of George Washington.

Dr. Denver Brunsman, Associate Professor and Chair of History at George Washington University, will lead the discussion. He specializes in the American Revolution, early U.S. history, and the British Atlantic world. Drawing on themes from his book George Washington and His World, Dr. Brunsman will examine Washington's role in the American Revolution, the founding of the United States, and the early years of the American republic. The lecture will also consider the people, ideas, and social and political circumstances that shaped Washington’s life and influence, offering a broader understanding of his place in eighteenth-century American history.
