Alsace: Pinot Gris World Wine Tasting & Dinner

Join us for an engaging evening celebrating Pinot Gris from around the globe, hosted at La Maison Française at the Embassy of France. The event begins with an interactive introduction to wine tasting, guided by Caroline Whiteman, WSET Level 3 certified wine expert and President of Alsace DC. You'll learn the basics of tasting before diving into a comparative tasting of four Pinot Gris/Pinot Grigio wines from Alsace (France), the United States, Italy, and New Zealand. Discover how different climates, terroirs, winemaking techniques, and regional traditions shape the character of wines made from the same grape.

Following the tasting, enjoy a traditional Alsatian three-course dinner. The menu features a classic Paté en croûte appetizer, followed by Bouchée à la Reine – a beloved Alsatian specialty of puff-pastry filled with poultry and wild mushrooms over Spaetzle noodles. Dessert is a delicious Tarte aux myrtilles, a blueberry pie. Wines from Alsace, including Pinot Gris, Pinot Noir, and Crémant, will be available for purchase at a cash bar. Please note that dinner substitutions are not available, and all sales are final.

For security purposes, each attendee must have a ticket registered in their name and present a government-issued ID that matches the name on the reservation to enter the Embassy.
