Tabasco: A Cuisine of Water & Smoke | Gastronomy Workshop with Chef Lupita Vidal

Join us at the Mexican Cultural Institute for a unique culinary experience exploring the flavors, ingredients, and traditions of Tabasco, Mexico. Acclaimed Chef Lupita Vidal, named Mexico’s Best Chef 2025, leads this workshop.

Tabasco is known for its rivers, lagoons, wetlands, tropical landscapes, and rich culinary traditions. It's a land deeply connected to water and the flavors created by fire, smoke, and ancestral cooking techniques. During this 60–90 minute experience, Chef Lupita Vidal will take participants on a flavorful journey through Tabasco’s cuisine, combining live cooking demonstrations, storytelling, tasting, and hands-on participation.

Throughout the workshop, Chef Lupita will introduce traditional ingredients and techniques central to Tabascan cooking, sharing stories about the region’s culinary heritage. The experience includes a tasting of the preparations made during the workshop, offering participants the opportunity to savor the flavors and techniques discussed. Chef Lupita will also bring select ingredients and traditional culinary elements from Tabasco.

This workshop is limited to 35 participants and costs $60 per person. The event will be conducted in Spanglish.
