The Mexican Cultural Institute invites you to the opening of "Mientras las plantas crecían: El jardín de los recuerdos" (While the Plants Grew: The Garden of Memories), an exhibition by Guadalajara-born artist Regina Escobedo.
Curated by Ana Aguilar, this evocative body of work explores the profound connections between memory, nature, home, and the passage of time. Escobedo's artistic practice transforms plants and gardens into more than just physical spaces; they become fertile ground where memories take root, grow, and evolve. The exhibition prompts reflection on how our personal and collective memories are shaped by the places we inhabit and the natural world around us.
Regina Escobedo Guerra, an artist currently based in New York City, primarily works with oil, gouache, and acrylic. She constructs, reconstructs, and preserves spaces of memory and curiosity by layering objects with pattern-making and diverse narratives in her pieces.
Join us for the opening reception on Thursday, October 22 at 6:30 PM at the Mexican Cultural Institute. Please RSVP via the provided link.
