Share a photograph of your dearly departed and make them part of our Ofrenda de Muertos 2026!

About

The Mexican Cultural Institute invites the community to participate in its 2026 Ofrenda de Muertos (Day of the Dead altar). This year's ofrenda is commissioned to Mexican visual artist Martirene Alcántara, who wishes to include photographs of community members' deceased loved ones.

You can submit a photograph in two ways: Printed photographs (4" × 6" or max 5" × 7") can be delivered in person to the Mexican Cultural Institute at 2829 16th Street NW, Washington, D.C. 20009. High-resolution digital photographs should be emailed to ofrenda2026imc@gmail.com. Please include your name, the name of your deceased loved one, and their dates of birth and death.

Physical photographs cannot be returned and will be securely destroyed after the exhibition. All images will be used exclusively for this ofrenda. This is a unique opportunity to honor your loved ones and contribute to a significant cultural display.
