About

Join the House of Sweden for an authentic celebration of one of Sweden's most beloved traditions. Midsummer marks the longest day of the year and is celebrated across Sweden with community gatherings, traditional foods, and folk customs that date back centuries.

This waterfront celebration brings together all the classic elements of a Swedish Midsummer: participate in traditional maypole dancing around the midsommarstång, craft your own flower crown using fresh blooms, and savor authentic Swedish meatballs paired with aquavit tastings.

The festivities take place at the House of Sweden's scenic location along the Potomac, offering beautiful waterfront views as you experience this cherished Nordic tradition. The event is free and open to all, providing a wonderful opportunity to immerse yourself in Swedish culture and community spirit.
