Aschiana and Starlight Annual Benefit Reception was a gala event hosted by the Embassy of France in Washington, D.C. It took place on Tuesday, April 28, 2026 at 6:00 PM at La Maison Française. Nearest Metro: 30-min walk from Rosslyn (Blue/Orange/Silver).

About

Two complementary missions come together for one powerful evening of philanthropy and solidarity. This joint benefit reception highlights the shared commitment of the Aschiana Foundation and Starlight Scholarship Fund for Girls to expanding educational access for vulnerable populations.

The Aschiana Foundation supports working street children and their families in Afghanistan through educational, vocational, and humanitarian programs, while the Starlight Scholarship Fund empowers first-generation immigrant girls in the Washington, DC metropolitan area through academic scholarships. The evening features remarks and programming led by Master of Ceremonies Nadia Hashimi, with special recognition of honoree Sima Samar.

Attendees will experience a video presentation and hear a testimonial from a Starlight scholar, illustrating the real-world impact of these initiatives. This gathering brings together members of the diplomatic, cultural, and philanthropic communities for an opportunity to support both organizations through a single evening of engagement.

Please allow extra time for security check-in and bring valid photo ID plus your Eventbrite ticket. Large bags, umbrellas, and backpacks are not permitted. No on-site parking is available, but metered street parking and nearby garage parking are options.
