Two organizations with complementary missions come together for an evening of solidarity and support. This joint benefit reception highlights the work of the Aschiana Foundation, which supports working street children and their families in Afghanistan through educational, vocational, and humanitarian programs, and the Starlight Scholarship Fund for Girls, which empowers first-generation immigrant girls in the Washington, DC metropolitan area through academic scholarships.
The evening features remarks and programming led by Master of Ceremonies Nadia Hashimi, with special recognition of honoree Sima Samar. Attendees will hear testimonials from a Starlight scholar and view a video presentation illustrating the impact of these educational initiatives.
The event brings together members of the diplomatic, cultural, and philanthropic communities at La Maison Française. Please allow extra time for security check-in and bring a valid photo ID along with your Eventbrite ticket. Large bags, umbrellas, backpacks, and bike helmets are not permitted on embassy grounds. No on-site parking is available, but metered street parking and nearby garage options are accessible.
